I thought the brief serious section was handled well, and it also had a black edge of humour to it in the way that it flowed with the episode. I still prefer L,though.

The Miwako-Yamazaki relationship here was wonderful! Everything she does to him, she does to spite him, and yet with it just makes him grow more attracted to her and more confident and happy with himself.

I'd have to say it's pretty good, overall - especially the first half's tie-in with the Yamazaki torment of the 2nd half. It's a little more serious when it comes to dealing with the incident referred to back in Ep 3 of the series (Ayu chiding Mayama for 'luring' her friends from other schools)... but the Yamazaki arc makes it all good. :D

Gods, I loved watching her try to torment him.
